Congratulations to Keethanow Elementary School (KES) from Stanley Mission on winning the championship!

The LLRIB Athletic Association was created to get more LLRIB kids and youth, from our six member communities, active and involved by participating in various sports and recreation events. In following our Vision & Mission, today was really the first hosted-event envisioned by the Athletic Association with SMVS Athletics and JRMCC Sports & Recreation co-hosting the inaugural Intro to Volleyball Tournament. This was a co-ed Peewee-aged event for grade 5 & 6 students. We also invited our local and regional schools to participate for a total of 12 Band and NLSD teams.

Congratulations to Keethanow Elementary School (KES) from Stanley Mission on winning the championship. Nihithow Awasis School from Grandmother’s Bay (GMB) took silver and Sally Ross School from Hall Lake earned the bronze.

Thank you to the Kendall Mirasty for coordinating the event and Percy Mirasty for providing assistance and seeking out sponsors. Thanks also to all those who helped with event set-up, officiating, coaching and chaperoning!

Tis’ the season to be slippery

Shared by Daleney Clarke

Just a heads up the back steps are EXTREMELY slippery in the back as you’re entering the fitness centre. Especially at the bottom where the snow is melting from the roof and leaking down.

Please be careful as you come to visit your favorite place!

So far we have 80 players that will be registered. There are a few returnees in the NHLPA program, but the rest are pretty much all new.

We have cut off registration and will no longer accept late ones.

Parents, please be advised of the following meeting and make the effort to attend.
