12:47 p.m. LLRIB-EOC Emergency Update LLRIB. — Due to wildfire activities in our region, an ordered evacuation has been put in effect for Hall Lake, Sucker River, Brabant, La Ronge, and Stanley Mission. Only emergency, essential personnel will be permitted to travel north toward the region at this time. Here are the latest updates and urgent messages:

Key Updates from the June 5th Meeting:

🔥 Fire Behavior & Risk Overview • Active fires are burning in Hall Lake, La Ronge, Nut Point, Sucker River, Eagle Point, Waden Bay, and surrounding areas. • Spot fires have been reported up to 4 kilometers ahead of the main fire lines, particularly around Nut Point and Sucker River. • The Pisew fire is burning aggressively through dense deadfall and previous burn areas, making suppression difficult and unpredictable. • Fires are now encroaching on populated zones, including residential bushlines and infrastructure corridors.

🌡️ Weather Conditions • Winds are gusting up to 35 km/h from the south/southwest, with shifting expected by June 6 to the southeast at 10–15 km/h • Humidity remains critically low (15–25%), and worsening fire spread potential. • A lake-effect wind phenomenon on Lac La Ronge is adding instability to fire behavior along shorelines and is believed to have contributed to several spot fires. • Precipitation forecast remains poor: ◦ Less than 2 mm of rain expected in the next 48 hours. ◦ Possible localized showers but not enough to reduce fire activity. ◦ Dry lightning remains a threat if storm activity occurs.

🚁 Fire Resources and Equipment • Ground Crews Deployed: ◦ Multiple Type 2 and Type 3 crews are on the ground, including provincial teams and support from British Columbia. ◦ Crews are working 16-hour shifts on 12-day rotations with minimal rest periods. • Air Support: ◦ All fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft remain grounded in the area due to thick smoke and poor visibility. ◦ Aircraft are on standby and will resume operations once safe flight conditions return. • Equipment in Operation: ◦ 15 new fire trucks arrived yesterday and were dispatched to high-risk zones. ◦ Water trucks, dozers, pumps, and structure protection kits are in use across the region, with emphasis on La Ronge, Nut Point, and Hall Lake. ◦ Crews are manually constructing fire guards and applying sprinklers around homes and infrastructure where possible. • Emergency Support & Coordination: ◦ Local volunteer departments, provincial wildfire response teams, Indigenous emergency response coordinators, and municipal crews are collaborating. ◦ Resources continue to be stretched thin as new fires emerge and air support remains unavailable.

Questions about gym memberships during the evacuation

Posted by Emma Smallwood

Hi everyone,I understand that many of you have questions about your gym memberships during this evacuation period. First and foremost, our top priority is the safety and well-being of our community.

Once it’s safe to return home, I will implement a plan to address the days you were unable to use the gym.

Most likely, we’ll extend your memberships to compensate for the missed time. Rest assured, we will ensure that no one loses out due to circumstances beyond our control.

For now, let’s focus on staying safe and supporting each other. We’ll sort out all membership details once we’re back home, safe and sound.

Take care and stay strong. 💪
