It is almost time to go canoeing! If you live in the La Ronge area, you have to get out on the water at this time of the year & canoeing is one of the best ways to do it.
Cost friendly, convenient, good exercise & slow enough to enjoy the beauty of northern Saskatchewan. We have a canoe club (Pimiskatan Canoe Club – the only marathon canoe club in northern Saskatchewan) a few minutes from Town at Eagle Point Marina with 16 canoes 50m from the sheltered waters of McGibbon Bay.
Our opening will be at 7 p.m. on Wed., May 22 at Eagle Point Marina.
We won’t have our weekly race then (weekly races starting May 29) but we will have a quick meeting update & hopefully have our parking passes.
Anyone anxious for a quick paddle can take out a canoe on May 22.We will continue with our weekly races at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and lessons/recreational paddling at 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
Trips & other activities will be by members’ interests.
Our annual race will be Aug. 24 & with the Saskatchewan Summer Games coming up on July 21-24 in Lloydminister & the Tony Cote Summer Games on Aug. 13-15 in La Ronge, our Canoe Club will be a great place to train.Registration is only online at http://PIMCC.rampregistrations.com
Returning paddlers just have to sign in – new paddlers will have to create an account. Fees are $70 Singles, $120 Couple & $150 Family – payment can be by e-transfer, cheque or cash).
For Couples & Families, there is a place to list all members but then the full data has to be entered for every individual. Parking Passes must be picked up at the Marina at 7 p.m. on Wed. or Thurs.
Lifejackets & paddles provided.
See you on the water & keep up to date with our Pimiskatan-La Ronge Canoe Club Facebook page and larongecanoeclub.com web site!
