All youth in the Lac La Ronge tri-community area ages 6-18 invited to join

Online registration form: https://forms.gle/4PmqfyCgYKaakDGQ7

  • Blizzard Program Ages 6-12: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:45pm-4:45pm
  • Club Program Ages 10-18: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:45pm-5:45pm

We plan for the curling season to begin on October 23, 2023 (this is the Town of La Ronge’s target date that the ice will be ready for use). The season will end on March 21, 2024. Please note that youth curling offered by the La Ronge Curling Club is completely separate from any “school curling” that youth may participate in with their local school programming.

We will run sessions 2 x weekly with practice/development on Mondays and games on Wednesdays.

Athletes in the “Club Program” are expected to volunteer as on-ice helpers on Mondays for the Blizzard Program.

Coaches: James Kissick, Bryce Herperger, Karla Hardcastle

Registration Fee: $200/Youth Athlete

NOTE: Any LLRIB youth in the tri-community want to join curling? JRMCC Sports & Recreation will pay your fee!

$200 Registration Fee include two times weekly on-ice sessions from Oct 23, 2023 – March 21, 2024, curling equipment (brooms & sliders), and coaching. Note that bonspiel registration fees are extra and participation at bonspiels is optional.

JRMCC will pay registration fees for all LLRIB members! All you have to do is sign up and we will take care of the rest.

This is an approved activity for KidSport sponsorship. KidSport La Ronge application forms can be found here: https://kidsportcanada.ca/saskatchewan/la-ronge

Athlete Equipment:

All athletes need to bring clean indoor runners or curling shoes, a water bottle, and ideally warm athletic clothing and mitts/gloves with grip.

No special equipment is necessary, but feel free to bring a broom, slider, or curling shoes if they have them already. If you want your child to wear a helmet on the ice, please send one with them.

Outdoor shoes/winter boots will NOT be permitted on the curling ice.

Adult Safe Hockey League for the 2024-2025 Season

Would current teams and players in the Crusher league want to join in an Adult Safe Hockey League for the 2024-2025 season? It would come with Hockey Canada’s supplementary sport accident insurance program. Players also have access to AD&D coverage, while leagues are also insured with general liability insurance. You get free stats & schedules and services to make it happen. We would factor in the fees, paid referees and scorekeepers. You can also take advantage of the full suite of ASHL tools with our tailored Rule Book and additional league services to take your league to the next level. JRMCC Sports & Recreation would spearhead this initiative.
